Hours of Operation

  • We are open Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
  • Our centre remains closed on weekends and statutory holidays.

Annual Closures & Holidays

DELC is closed for the following statutory holidays:

Our centre observes statutory holidays throughout the year. Please note early closures at 12:00 PM on New Year’s Eve and Christmas Eve. A full holiday list is provided below for your convenience.

  • Easter Monday
  • Victoria Day
  • Canada Day
  • Civic Holiday
  • Labour Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Day
  • Boxing Day

Note: The Board of Directors determines closures for the Christmas Break annually. Families will be notified in advance.

Professional Development (PD) Days

We value staff growth. Notice of PD days (planned by the City of Hamilton) will be provided at least one month in advance.

Weather & Emergency Closures

In the event of severe weather, DELC follows the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) snow closure policy. Please monitor CHCH News or 109.9 KLITE for updates.

  • Communication: We will notify you via Lillio, email, and our Facebook page.
  • Fees: As our financial obligations remain the same during short-term emergency closures, fees are not refunded for these days.
